Railway Pit.

Around five acres in size, this is predominantly fished for its carp. Specimens grow to over 40lb with a good number of 20lb and 30lb fish as back up. An on-going stocking program started several years ago has seen the improvement of fishing year on year with weights rising. There are nineteen purpose-built bivvy swims surrounding the lake giving lots of room and comfort with plenty of water to fish. A bit of time spent talking to regulars or exploring with a marker float is time well spent, there are plenty of features including several gravel bars and large weed beds. Don't be fooled into thinking carp is all this lake has to offer, it also contains a good head of other species, bream and tench breaking 10lb barrier and an abundance of roach, rudd and perch. Some large pike are also present for some cracking winter action. Night fishing is allowed on this all-year-round fishery, subject to closure when the fish are spawning.
