CLUB Brookfield rules.

CLUB BROOKFIELD - BOOKINGS:

1) Any member wishing to fish CLUB Brookfield will need to book via Whatsapp, details can be found on the booking card found in your BAS welcome pack when becoming a member. If you don’t have this app, bookings can also be made by calling the office during business hours ONLY. These hours can also be found on the enclosed booking card. These are the only ways you can arrange fishing on CLUB Brookfield. FISHING IS NOT PERMITTED UNLESS YOU HAVE A VALID BOOKING.
2) If the booking is for a single member, remaining members will be offered a booking in the same time period up to the total number of swims (3). Swim allocation is on a first-come-first-served-basis for all members.
3) ANY MEMBER ACCESSING CLUB BROOKFIELD WITHOUT PERMISSION WILL BE BANNED AND ASKED TO LEAVE THE FISHERY IMMEDIATELY, THEY WILL ALSO BE REFUSED MEMBERSHIP ANYTIME IN THE FUTURE.
4) THE LAST MEMBER TO LEAVE THE FISHERY AT ANY GIVEN TIME MUST LOCK THE GATE AND TOILET WHEN EXITING.
CLUB BROOKFIELD - GENERAL RULES:

1) All member vehicles MUST be parked in the designated parking areas, please refrain from parking in front of pillars directly opposite the gate (this area can be used for unloading/loading).
2) Members may only enter by the authorised gate entrance. Once the gate has been opened to gain admittance, it should be closed again immediately afterwards and locked.
3) All members must keep within the boundaries of the fishery and must not wander on private grounds unless they have obtained permission to do so.
4) No members to interfere with any private property. The use of the on-site toilet is fine.
5) It is an offence to take, attempt to take, kill or in any way interfere with any bird, game or animal life.
6) If you happen to be unlucky enough to have a bird take/swallow/pickup your hook bait and it becomes attached or tangled, you must make every effort to untangle and remove the hook from the bird. If you are uncomfortable doing this, ask for assistance from any neighbouring anglers. Return the bird to the lake unharmed.
7) It is strictly prohibited to camp, light fires (BBQS are permitted), dig banks for worms or any other purpose or for any members to carry any rifle, gun or small arm.
8) While fishing, all members MUST be in possession of a valid membership/guest card, an in-date Environment Agency Fishing Licence and a carp care kit.
9) Membership cards are not transferable and cannot be used by unauthorised persons.
10) Members must not cause annoyance or offence to any local resident or member of the public.
11) Members must conduct themselves in an orderly manner at all times when fishing the fishery.
12) No members may take away or introduce any fish without express permission.
13) Any pollution, damage to gates, locks, fences, banks, bridges, signs, dams, sluices or matters affecting the water in any way must be reported to the office immediately.
14) All members are deemed to be honorary bailiffs whilst on the fishery and must assist in the prevention of persons breaking any fishery rules.
15) No members shall fish with litter around them, whether their own or that left by other persons.
16) Members must not use the bin in the on-site toilet for general angling waste.
17) If litter bins are provided, please use them. If they become full during your session, DO NOT overfill them.
18) A member may bring paying guests onto the fishery (see reverse of this leaflet). Before doing so, the member must obtain written permission via email from the office. Whilst on the water, the member will be fully responsible for the guest’s behaviour. All guests must obey these written rules.
19) Non-fishing guests are allowed, but limited to one per member. Guest anglers are not permitted any guests.
20) Illegal substances are not permitted in any way, any members or guests found to be under the influence, in possession of, in an unfit state to safely fish, will be banned from the fishery immediately.
21) Members must produce a valid membership card at the bailiffs request. No card, no fishing. Simple!
22) Please adhere to the bailiffs’ requests. Do not take offence if you are asked to have your rigs inspected.
23) In the event of an accident, members or guests MUST file the incident in the accident book. This can be found inside the first aid kit located in the toilet.
24) Any previous members found fishing without a valid, up to date membership card will be asked to leave the fishery immediately and will be refused membership anytime in the future. They will also be reported to local authorities.
25) Baitcraft Angling Society accepts no responsibility or liability for any loss or damage to any possessions. You undertake angling activities at this venue at your own risk.

CLUB BROOKFIELD - FISHING RULES:

1) A maximum of three fishing rods per angler (plus spod and marker rod if required).
2) A member can only occupy a single swim at any one time, must fish within specified areas and must not interfere with any other swim.
3) Long stay anglers must not leave their swims for more than two hours in any twenty four (unless it’s an emergency).
4) All fish must be returned to the water as quickly as possible following capture.
5) No sacks allowed. Retaining of fish is permitted in an XL floating retainer sling, for a maximum of fifteen minutes.
6) When taking photographs of fish, please ensure they are held gently but securely and most importantly, whilst crouched/kneeling over a suitable sized unhooking mat/cradle. This ensures that if the fish does struggle, it is not dropped from a height which could result in injury or even death. Treat ALL hook holds with carp care.
7) Any person found attempting to steal fish from CLUB Brookfield will be prosecuted. (Theft Act 1968).
8) Minimum 15lb line (0.35mm diameter).
9) Braided main lines are allowed, but a leader must be used at the rig end. Either tubing or mono, no less than one metre in length.
10) No fixed lead rigs. All leads must pass freely over leader knots. MAGIC TWIG PRODUCTS ARE CURRENTLY BANNED.
11) Members must not leave broken mainlines, hook lengths or discarded hooks on the banks of the fishery.
12) Members must not add, remove or alter in any way, weed, banks, trees and land surrounding the fishery.
13) MEMBERS MUST NOT LEAVE BAITED OR UNBAITED RODS AND LINES UNATTENDED IN THE WATER. ANGLERS FOUND ANYWHERE OTHER THAN THE SWIM WHERE THEIR RODS ARE LOCATED, ARE IN BREACH OF THIS RULE. IF ALL TACKLE IS NOT WOUND IN, UNATTENDED RODS WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN.
14) Anglers must have a minimum 42-inch landing net and a large padded unhooking mat or cradle regardless of target species.
15) Maggots are permitted, but no more than five pints per angler per 24-hours.
16) Fishing is only allowed with rod and line. Only one hook per line.
17) Barbed or micro-barbed hooks ONLY!
18) Bait boats are currently not allowed on the fishery.
19) The use of audio and visual equipment is banned unless used with personal headphones or is at a respectable volume level.
20) No wading allowed unless: Aiding you to land fish safely, releasing/unsnagging fish safely.
21) No fishing guests allowed without prior approval from the office.
22) We welcome dogs - please clean up after them. Dogs are not permitted to enter the water.
23) NO LITTER - all litter and discarded debris is the responsibility of the angler present within the swim and surrounding area. REGARDLESS OF ORIGIN, ALL LITTER MUST BE REMOVED FROM THE FISHERY.
24) Maintenance and Events: Baitcraft Angling Society reserves the right to close swims and water areas to facilitate maintenance, angling and non-angling events at any time.
25) No unauthorised selling of bait, tackle, food or any other products.
26) No live bait to be brought on to the fishery.

Whether you are pleasure fishing or carp fishing, you will need to adhere to all CLUB Brookfield rules. By joining our society, you are agreeing to abide by the rules of Baitcraft Angling Society/CLUB Brookfield and those of other bodies of whom BAS is a member or affiliated. Failure to obey these rules may result in disciplinary action and you could be banned. Please note: If for any reason you are banned, you will NOT be entitled to a refund or any portion of your membership fee. So please ensure you know and stick to the rules. Many thanks.
